I had to share this! It sounds soooooo good!!
CINNAMON CREAM CHEESE ROLLUPS
1 loaf of soft white bread
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese
1 1/2 cups of sugar, divided
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsps cinnamon (or to taste)
½ cup butter, melted
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Trim the crusts from the bread and roll the slices flat. Beat together the cream cheese, ½ cup of sugar, egg yolk and vanilla. Spread the bread slices with cream cheese mixture and roll them corner-to-corner. Mix the remaining 1 cup of sugar with the cinnamon and quickly roll the slices through the melted butter (or brush them with a pastry brush) and then through the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Bake in a 375 degree preheated oven until lightly browned. Cool on wire rack. Best served warm. These freeze very well.
Tara’s Tip: For extra zip, you can add lemon or orange zest to the cream cheese, or a dash of almond extract. I’ve also added mini chocolate chips, raisins, nuts or cranberries!Credit: http://www.temp-tations.com/
