So this is only my 2nd Thinking out Loud link up with Amanda at The Tiny Runner, but I really like doing them. I’m kind of a random thinker type anyway..so here we go!

1. Yesterday I spent the entire day the VA hospital in Iowa City with hubby. He had an angiogram done to check his heart. He is basically all clogged up except for one artery, the one in the back. So they are going in on the 11th & putting a stint in. They were even mentioning another bypass surgery yesterday. Not sure if they will go that route again or not. When they do the angiogram they go in through his major artery in his groin area, so afterwards they put tons of pressure on it and put a plug in, but then here’s the fun part…he has to lie perfectly flat for 6 hours so that the plug stays put while the blood clots up. Oh Joy. So that was a really boring day. We did have some great conversation, Ralph and I, and his male nurse was really nice as well.
Here’s where I had to wait before he went in for the procedure…waiting areas are so boring..lol

Then there was all the waiting….afterwards. At least they have Wifi there…and a tv! Oh, and Coffee. Ralph was very happy to finally have coffee. They make you fast for this, he wasn’t able to have coffee when we got up!

2. The kids were so sweet though while they were home alone all day while we were at the hospital. They even did all the dishes and cleaned up the whole kitchen. We’re so blessed to have such awesome kids! Oh, and they also worked on school without me even being there to make them do it.
3. My treadmill….
Even though I would rather run outside, we were under a wind chill advisory yesterday (still are today) and there was no way I was running outside in the dark or the cold. I was so TIRED after being at the hospital all day. Why does just sitting at a hospital make you so tired? I swear they pump sleepy gas into the air! The last night I felt like doing when I got home from the hospital was run. However, my training schedule had 5 miles on it. So I sucked it up and did it. I felt so much better that I did. I knew I would have regretted it if I hadn’t.

4. Coffee. I don’t know where I would be without it this morning. I really needed some. Oh and sleep. So thankful for sleep. I don’t think it took long for me to fall asleep last night once my head hit the pillow!
5. Guess what? I’ve been so busy I almost forgot to tell you all….I was accepted as a GIRLS GONE SPORTY Ambassador!!!! I’m so excited!!
