Gosh, it’s Monday already? Where’d the weekend go? Oh, it disappeared like it always does!! This weekend I skipped my Saturday long run in favor of resting my PF. I think one 7 mile run probably don’t derail my training if I skip it.
Friday we just hung out at home in the morning and didn’t really do a whole lot. Just relaxed. Our son worked that afternoon at 2, so after we dropped him off we headed over to the Clerk of Court to see about a duplicate Birth Certificate for me. HyVee needed 2 forms of Identification for employment and I only still have my drivers license. So I attempted to get a duplicate social security card, but it will take 1-2 weeks for that to get here. So we headed off to the Clerk of Court. For $20 I was able to get it and get it printed right there!! So I called HyVee and the HR Manager was able to schedule my orientation for that very next morning. I was so happy. Then we went to the 2nd hand store and did a little shopping, and came home.
My friend Lindsey came over that night and shared a Shakeology shake with me and we watched some Beach Body videos. Yea, we didn’t actually work out haha!
Saturday I had orientation at 8am which went very well. I was there 2 hours. We (there was one other lady there) filled out paperwork and heard a little about what to expect and all that jazz and then watched 2 videos. The 2nd one I thought was hilarious but very truthful. I found it on YouTube and thought I’d share it. I truly wish all people who worked in retail worked this way. IF you work in customer service you need to see this!
When I got done with the training I picked up milk and 1 banana to eat, I was so hungry! Then came home, picked up Ralph and Abby and we headed to Walmart. Remember that new coffeemaker we bought just a few weeks ago? It died already! 🙁 So we had to go buy another one. First we stopped at Menards to get a new lightbulb for the stove vent hood. Then to Walmart. We got a coffee maker for under $20! Can’t beat that. I also walked to Lindsey’s with the dog and borrowed her copy of Insanity Max 30 and I’m going to try that out this week.
Let’s just say that I did not end up trying the workout Saturday. I was falling asleep standing up and was in no shape to work out!
Sunday we had church and I helped out in one of the Sunday school classes. I haven’t done that for awhile. It was fun. That evening the church had a picnic at City Park, but holy moly, the temp is 90 and it feels like 100!! I did not want to go out to a park in those temps. So hubby and I stayed home and the kids both went. It’s not good on Ralph to be out in the heat with his heart condition. Best to stay in the AC 🙂
GOALS
Let’s move on to my goals for this week. I am starting training at HyVee this morning at 10:30 so I’ll be jumping right into balancing working out, home life and a new job. I’m glad it’s only part time for now actually.
Monday: Insanity Max 30: Cardio Challenge and some calf stretches and icing of my PF
Tuesday: Insanity Max 30: Tabata Power, 5 mile run and icing my PF. Also, I’ll be at HyVee from 10-4 doing training.
Wednesday: Working at Choices from 9-1, then doing Insanity Max 30: Sweat Intervals, and then icing and stretching my PF
Thursday: 5 mile run and Insanity Max 30: Tabata Power. Calf stretches and icing my PF
Friday: Insanity Max 30: Fight Round 1, again with working my PF and calf muscles.
Saturday: 7 mile long run and no Insanity (thank God since it’s long run day!)
I’m so determined to get into better shape. Can you tell? It’s not just weight loss, which would be nice, mostly it’s toning up, getting stronger, and becoming a better runner because of it. I need to take my own health into my hands, no one will do it for me! I will be an Overcomer!!
I hope you all have a fabulous week!!
